The Romans gave a big impulse
to the diffusion of the massicani wines,
to which Virgilio, Orazio and Plinio
attributed the virtue of "light the fancy
and give the ardor to the body."
The wines of the Prattico farm are produced and bottled in Acquamara estate.
They are divided in: wines
with denomination of checked origin (doc), geographical typical indication (igt) and tables - wines
.

As regards to "doc" wines,
the trademark is reserved to the Galluccio, proposed in two different types:
white ( 70 per cent at least  of Falanghina , and for the remaining 30 per cent
from typical varieties of the zone), red (70 per cent at least of Aglianico and for the remaining 30 per cent from typical varieties of the zone).

Rich and variegated is the production
of the geographical typical indication (igt) wines .

A place of honour is certainly reserved to the Falanghina: a white wine produced from one hundred per cent
of "falanghina" grapes.
Straw yellow colour, with greenish reflexes,
and intense fragrance,
fruity and from the dry taste,
but, at the same time, delicate, goes well together with fish dishes, shellfishes
and seafood appetizers (excellent also as aperitif
).

Red ruby colour and with a blackberry fruits fragrance is instead the Aglianico wine (whose etymology goes up again to Greek or Grecizer). With an alcoholic degree of about  11 per cent, Aglianico wine  is kept for two or three years and it goes well tegether with lamb and pork meats, salted meats and seasoned cheeses. Always in theme of red wines, the Aurunco has to be indicated, a delicate wine, with a

cool and velvety taste.
It has an alcoholic degree of 11 per cent and it has to be served at a temperature of 16°. It goes well with first courses of pasta and with white meats.
The Claretto, unloaded straw yellow coloured, it is a wine with alcool,
fruity taste, and for a quick drink. It goes well with  fish dishes and rice with sea fruits. Its alcoholic degree is of  11 per cent, the best temperature to taste it is between 8° and 10°.
The so-called CRU wines conclude the resign: Falanghina "Vigna del prete" and  Aglianico "Vigna ai cerri". The first one is a white wine produced from selected grapes, picked in the small vineyard of the Acquamara estate.
With a delicate taste and a fruity smell, it goes well with fish dishes and first delicate courses. The second one is a red ruby wine, with a  persistent perfume, excellent with red or white meats, strewed or roasted.
